Eraters has been banned due to advertising multiple times on our server, as well as attempting to get players to leave here and join his server. Not only was he warned but he acknowledged he understood the warning, and assured me he would not advertise again. He had previously lamented, however, that he is not satisfied with being "just a regular player," and that he aspires to be a server owner, or staff, or admin on another server. While I wished him the best I also asked him not to use this community to advertise or recruit players. Today he sent this in our Discord channel:

And you can read his excuse here:

Welp, I just don't think eraters really wants to play here or has the impulse control not to advertise despite the warnings.
So, I wish him all the best and I hope he gets that rank that makes him happiest somewhere.

Way back when I took my Human Development course, my prof shared that he had come across some research that found that for men (for some reason they only included men in this study), the average age at which they realize "for good," so to speak, that this wasn't the case is 28. Until around that time, whatever steam keeps them chugging away with this delusion tends to maintain it, but at some point (for most anyway), it runs out. And then, like with many other cynical (or realistic) realizations, it comes down to other factors in how well a person copes and how well they adjust (or fall into a pit of despair) later.
